How to play

  1. The rack. The rack stands upright: 7 columns, 6 rows, and it starts empty. Each player has 21 discs of one colour.
  2. Drop. On your turn, drop one disc into any column that is not full. It falls to the lowest empty place in that column. You cannot pass.
  3. Four in a line. Make a line of four of your own discs, across, up or slanted, and you win at once. A longer line wins too.
  4. A full rack. If all 42 places are full and nobody has four in a line, the game is a draw.

At the online table

  • Tap a column to lift a disc above it, then tap the same column again (or “Drop”) to drop it. With a mouse, point at a column and click.
  • On a keyboard: the keys 1 to 7 choose a column, the arrow keys move the disc, and Enter drops it. M turns the sound off.
  • Each turn has a 20-second timer. If it runs out, the table drops a disc for you.
  • An empty seat is taken by a bot, always marked as a bot.
  • The pile by each side holds the discs still to drop, 21 at the start. If the rack fills and nobody has four in a line, the game is a draw. Point at a pile, or hold a finger on it, to read this at the table.

Why it is fair

Nothing is hidden and nothing is left to luck, except who drops first. A secret seed decides that. You see its fingerprint when the game starts and the seed itself when it ends, so you can check it. Verify a game.
